Ngana Julaymba Dungay Half-Day Cultural Tour

This half-day cultural tour gives you time on Country with a local Aboriginal guide, focused on the land, stories and continuing connection the Kuku Yalanji people have with the area. Over the morning or afternoon, you’ll visit culturally significant places and learn about local history, traditions and the way the environment provides food and medicine. It’s a more hands-on option than a standard sightseeing trip, with activities including bush tucker tasting, shellfish collecting and traditional hunting practice.

The experience runs over either a morning or afternoon session. You’ll travel by air-conditioned vehicle, then head out with your guide through rainforest and coastal habitats while learning about the landscape and its cultural importance. Along the way, you may sample bush tucker, collect shellfish and try spear throwing as part of traditional hunting practices. If conditions line up, you might even catch a mud crab. The tour finishes with a chance to cool off in a pristine freshwater stream.
