Southern Barossa and Reservoirs Scenic Helicopter Flight

This is a short scenic helicopter flight over the southern end of the Barossa. After take-off from the Hoffnungsthal Valley, the route heads over Rowland Flat and Jacob’s Creek Winery, then continues across Lyndoch, the Barossa Goldfields, the Whispering Wall and the South Para Reservoirs before returning via Williamstown. It’s a quick way to see a big stretch of wine country and surrounding landscapes from the air, and it suits travellers who want a splurge experience rather than a budget activity.

You’ll depart from the operator’s base in the Hoffnungsthal Valley and head northeast over Rowland Flat, where you’ll get aerial views of Jacob’s Creek Winery and its huge wine tanks. From there, the flight tracks over the southern Barossa, passing Lyndoch and the Barossa Goldfields, then follows the area around the Whispering Wall and upstream to the South Para Reservoirs. The return leg comes back via Williamstown with more views across the southern Barossa Ranges. A local guide is included, and there’s time for a photo on your own phone or camera.
