Daintree River Sunset Wildlife Cruise

This late afternoon cruise is a relaxed way to wrap up time in the Daintree, with a strong focus on wildlife spotting as the river shifts into sunset. You’ll head out with a guide on a small boat carrying a maximum of 10 passengers, which keeps things quieter and more personal than larger tours. Sightings often include saltwater crocodiles, snakes and a good range of birdlife, with kingfishers, herons and frogmouths among the species regularly seen. The boat uses both a standard outboard and an electric motor, which helps reduce disturbance when getting closer to wildlife.

Cruises start and finish at the public boat ramp in Daintree Village. There are no transfers, and there is no public transport to the departure point, so you’ll need your own way there. Daintree Village is about 45 minutes from Port Douglas and 75 minutes from Cape Tribulation. Once on the water, the guide tailors the cruise to the interests of the group while keeping an eye out for wildlife along the riverbanks and in the trees overhead.
