Tasman Peninsula Full-Day Kayaking Tour

This is a full-day sea kayaking trip along the Tasman Peninsula, focused on getting you right down at water level beneath some seriously dramatic coastal scenery. You’ll paddle below the southern hemisphere’s highest sea cliffs, check out natural sea caves and photograph standout rock formations including the Candlestick and the Totem Pole. With a local guide and all kayaking gear included, it’s a strong pick if you want a more active way to see this coastline rather than just looking out from land. It’s not a casual float though — a high level of fitness is recommended.

You’ll head out in a stable double kayak with a guide, using provided paddles, life jackets, spray jackets, warm fleeces if needed and wet suit booties. From the water, the scale of the coastline becomes the main event, with 200-metre-high fluted cliffs rising above you. Along the way, you’ll peer into sea caves, look for Australian fur seals and pass the Candlestick and the Totem Pole, a narrow rock pillar known among climbers. Expect a long, active day on the water rather than a quick sightseeing paddle.
