Pinnacles Desert Sunset and Stargazing Tour from Perth

This guided day trip takes you north from Perth to the Pinnacles Desert for the best part of the day: sunset and the night sky. Along the way, there are scenic coastal stops on WA’s Coral Coast, then time to explore the limestone pillars in Nambung National Park as the late afternoon light changes. After dark, the tour includes a locally sourced picnic dinner and stargazing with a telescope under clear regional skies. It’s a good option if you want to see the Pinnacles without hiring a car or trying to organise a long day trip yourself.

You’ll leave Perth and travel north with a guide, stopping first at places such as Guilderton Beach Lookout, where the dunes meet the Indian Ocean. Depending on conditions, the tour then visits either Nilgen Nature Reserve for a walk through native bushland or Hangover Bay for a more relaxed coastal stop, with a chance of spotting marine life offshore. Later, you’ll head into Nambung National Park once the afternoon crowds have started to thin out and walk through the Pinnacles Desert at sunset. After that, dinner is served picnic-style before the focus shifts to the night sky, with telescope viewing and commentary about planets and constellations.
