Cape Tribulation and Daintree Ziplining Day Tour

4 hours to 1 day

Overview

This full-day trip from Port Douglas packs a fair bit into one day, combining Cape Tribulation, Daintree scenery and a two-hour ziplining session through the rainforest canopy. It starts with an early pickup, crosses the Daintree River by ferry and includes stops for lookout views, beach time and a wildlife cruise. If you want more than a standard sightseeing day and like the idea of adding an active element, this is a solid way to see the area without sorting out transport yourself.

Why backpackers love it

It’s an easy way to do a bigger Daintree and Cape Tribulation day without hiring a car or piecing together separate activities. You get a mix of sightseeing and something more hands-on, so the day feels less like sitting on a bus the whole time. The wildlife cruise adds another side to the region, and the included zipline gear and guided setup keep the practical side straightforward. It’s not the cheapest day trip, but it does bundle several experiences into one booking.

What to expect

Pickup starts around 7.30am in Port Douglas. After crossing the Daintree River by ferry, the first stop is Alexandra Lookout for photos over the rainforest. From there, the tour heads to Cape Tribulation Beach, where the rainforest meets the reef. The ziplining section takes place at Treetops Adventure Centre, where you’ll get fitted with safety gear, have morning tea and then spend around two hours moving through the canopy with guides. After lunch at a rainforest retreat, the day continues with a one-hour crocodile and wildlife spotting cruise through the mangroves. There’s also a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company, where you can buy tropical fruit ice cream if you want, before returning to Port Douglas at about 5pm.
