Daintree Waterfall Hike, Swim, Lunch and Crocodile Cruise

This full-day Daintree trip combines a proper rainforest walk with a few standout extras. You’ll get access to a private tropical fruit farm, hike through ancient rainforest to a secluded waterfall, cool off with a swim, then sit down to a gourmet lunch before heading out on the Daintree River to look for estuarine crocodiles and other wildlife. It’s a more active day than a standard sightseeing tour, so it suits travellers who want nature, swimming and wildlife in one well-organised trip.

The day runs from around 8:30am to 4:30pm. After pickup from Port Douglas or Mossman, you’ll head into the Daintree for a guided walk on private land through forest glades and a creekside valley to a secluded waterfall. There’s time to swim beneath the falls before lunch. Lunch includes a range of choices such as steak, barramundi, chicken, kangaroo and vegetarian options, and you’ll need to submit selections when booking. In the afternoon, the tour finishes with a boat cruise on the Daintree River, where you’ll search for crocodiles and other wildlife in the World Heritage-listed ecosystem. This tour requires moderate fitness and good balance, and it’s not recommended for pregnant travellers or those with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or limited mobility. Cairns travellers need to make their own way to Port Douglas to join.
